I have been with my current employer for nine years, the first 18 months as a casual. Does this period count towards long service leave?

Under the NSW Long Service Leave Act service as a casual counts towards long service leave. Relevant section is section 4, subsection 11(a) Text of this is below:

11) For the purposes of this section:

(a) service of a worker with an employer means continuous service, whether

on a permanent, casual, part-time or any other basis, under one or

more contracts of employment,
