What are the obligations for employers when employees are called up for jury service? Carolyn |
There is no automatic obligation under legislation but it is often included in awards. In fact it remains one of the allowable matters under the federal Workplace Relations Act. In the Metal Industry Award, which is the standard setter, the employer is obliged to make up the difference between the jury allowance and the normal pay rate.
