What are the weight limits for lifting at work for women? Bruno |
Codes of Practice for Manual Handling put the limit at 16kg.
They aim to have this limit for all workers, not just women. This is because there is a lot of evidence that the risk of back injury significantly increases between 16 and 20 kg. Mechanical assistance should be used whan loads exceed this weight.
