Not sure about your rights at work? - Ask Neale

question

I'm from Florida and my boss wants me to give all employees Hepatitis B vaccinations. I feel this should be done by a qualfied nurse or other health person. Can I be forced to do this?

LB

answer

I'm no expert on US laws but after searching the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) site I found the standard for blood-borne pathogens at http://www.osha-slc.gov/SLTC/logging_advisor/mechanical/firstaid/1910_1030.html.

Section f (1)(ii)(C) states that a licenced health care professional should administer vaccinations.
