What rate should I be paid for casual work? I am over 21. Michael |
It depends on the type of job. The casual rate is usually 20% on top of the normal hourly rate in an industry. So if you are a shop employee, for example, the normal hourly rate in NSW is $11.68. The casual rate is 13.43 and there is an extra loading of 1.12 in lieu of holiday pay because casuals don't get holiday leave.
