Stop work meetings will be held around the state on Wednesday the 27th about the workers comp legislation. find out more about the meetings. See photos of the Workers Comp demonstrations The Workers Compensation legislation introduced into the State parliament by the Carr government is a direct attack on benefits to the working people of this state. The legislation has been hastily compiled and introduced without any consultation with the trade union movement. The changes take away the right to sue negligent employers for all but the most seriously injured workers. It also introduces binding medical panels where workers will not have the ability to challenge a determination in the courts. Background documents on the Workers Compensation scheme can be accessed through this site. For all the latest news on the Make a Noise for Compo campaign check out the Workers Online Live News Feed. We will be targeting Labor polticians who have not supported the Labor movement's campaign against the unfair changes to Worker's Comp. The Labor Council newspaper ads can be viewed and printed and distributed around your workplace.
Listen to the latest radio ad "Dellas' Compo Sale". View the unfurling of the Workers comp banner. To make a noise in defence of your workers compensation rights click here and email all MP's demanding they vote for the legislation to be withdrawn until there has been full consultation with the trade union movement. You can also write to own MP individually. Send us a copy of any individual letters. You can also discuss the Workers Comp campaign in LaborNET's online forums area Don't forget to sign out petition!
