Unions are there to support, advise and advocate on your behalf in your workplace. They also negotiate your awards and agreements with your employer and generally those workers that are union members have better wages and conditions.
Unions also work on test cases that assist the workforce in general. These would include the living wage case, the paid maternity leave case and the reasonable hours case.
