Your rights and obligations to training are set out under your training agreement and training plan. If you don’t have a copy of these you can always ask your employer for one, or ask your state or territory training authority who are required to give you a copy.
You should also keep a training record of training received in case there is a disagreement about what is supposed to be provided. A training record book or work book should be provided by the employer at the commencement of the traineeship or apprenticeship.
If there is a dispute about the training not being provided or about the quality of the training, you can also take this up with the state or territory training authority. Ask your union for assistance, or if you’re not a union member ring the ACTU Hotline on 1300 362 223.
