questions

How do I know if I am employed as a part-timer, casual or temporary employee?

questions

Before starting with a new employer, there are a number of things that you should clarify to ensure you understand what is expected of you and to help you determine if you are being treated in accordance with (at least) minimum award conditions. One of the things you should check is your employment status. In other words whether you’re casual, full-time, part-time, permanent etc. Your hours of work may give you an indication whether you are permanent part time or permanent full-time. You should ask for written advice of your employment status and a clear statement of your conditions of employment. For more information contact the Australian Council of Trade Unions on 1300 362 223
