Unfair dismissals are dismissals that are seen to be harsh, unjust or unreasonable.
Unfair dismissal claims would include:
- Your dismissal was unfair (which is the harsh, unjust and unreasonable
statement.)
- Your dismissal was unlawful (for prohibited reason) or
- You were dismissed without being given the correct amount of
notice.
If you think you have been dismissed unfairly or unlawfully, then you should contact your union. If you are not a member of a union, then you should contact the ACTU Helpline on 1300 362 223.
