One.Tel workers demand actionDate: 30 May 2001
Following confirmation that troubled telephone company One.Tel has been placed in administration, the CPSU Communications Union has called for urgent meetings with administrators. The union is seeking assurances over jobs, accrued leave entitlements and superannuation for One.Tel's 1400 staff. CPSU spokesperson, Stephen Jones, said "Staff are shocked and upset by today's announcement and we are offering whatever support we can. We want to ensure that One.Tel staff are not last in the line of creditors. The CPSU will pursue the administrators vigorously on this issue." For Comment
