It's a bit Rich, Jodee

Date: 31 May 2001

Staff at embattled telco One.Tel are demanding former managing directors Jodee Rich and Brad Keeling take personal responsibility any outstanding wages and entitlements.

CPSU Communication Union spokesperson, Adrian O'Connell, says the union is determined to secure outstanding entitlements for 1400 staff, either through the administrator or directly from the failed former executives.
"The directors walked away with $7 million bonuses, yet it is unclear if One.Tel staff, who earn around $28,000 a year, will be paid at all. Anyone can see that's unfair. We are calling on Mr Rich and Mr Keeling to do the right thing," said Mr O'Connell.
The CPSU will meet with administrators in Sydney at 3.30pm today.
The union also says anxiety is still high among One.Tel staff, many of whom are yet to be formally briefed by management about yesterday's announcements.
