INTERNATIONAL DAY OF MOURNING

Date: 28 April 2006

International Day of Mourning dedicated to the Tasmanian miners.

Unions NSW has dedicated today's International Day of Mourning miner killed and his colleagues, who are still missing in the mine disaster at Beaconsfield Gold Mine in Tasmania.

"Our thoughts are with the miners and with their families," Chris Christodoulou, Deputy Assistant Secretary Unions NSW said.

Mr Chris Christodoulou said that the International Day of Mourning Service that is to be held at 12 Noon on Friday 28th April 2006 at Reflection Park will be dedicated to the Tasmanian miners.

Reflection Park, Darling Harbour, Sydney (between the Novotel Rockford on Darling Harbour Hotel and the Sydney Entertainment Centre).

12.00 Midday
Friday 28 April
