Time to wake up on sexual harassmentDate: 22 July 2008
The ACTU has backed the Sex Discrimination Commissioner's national plan to tackle gender inequality in the workplace including more education to eliminate sexual harassment and discrimination. ACTU President Sharan Burrow said the findings from Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission "Listening Tour" were a wake up call, revealing serious ongoing inequities for women and, increasingly, men. "This report is a potent reminder that women of all ages are still enduring entrenched gender inequality particularly in the workplace. "Despite the progress we have made, there are still deep seated issues.
