Don't privatise Vic TAFEs!Date: 16 August 2008
The Victorian Government is planning the most serious overhaul of our public TAFE system in recent history. These plans have serious consequences not just in the education sector, but every industry affected by vocational education. The proposals will lead to increased fees, less access to vocational training for the most disadvantaged and the effective privatisation of TAFE education. It will also undermine the employment conditions of those who work in TAFE and potentially lead to job losses and TAFE closures. The NTEU, with the AEU and the VTHC, are running a campaign to raise awareness about these damaging changes.
