A life in politics.........

Date: 16 August 2008

Modern politicians are sometimes ridiculed by the public, obsessively scrutinised by the media, often have difficult relations with colleagues, and rarely have much quality time for their family. The question is whether public life is worth it?

The NSW Fabian Society has invited Tanya Plibersek to give a unique and personal insight into the goldfish world of federal politics and the sometimes surreal experience of juggling the roles of being a mother, federal MP, and Minister.

A conversation between:

  • Professor Geoff Gallop, former Premier of WA, and
  • Tanya Plibersek MP Minister for Housing and Status of Women
When: 6.00 for 6.30pm, Wednesday 20 August 2008.

Where: Gleebooks, 49 Glebe Point Road, Glebe.

Cost: Non-Fabians $10/$7. Members are free - please show your membership card to obtain free entry.

Contact: Bookings essential - Gleebooks website - Book online at http://www.gleebooks.com.au or on 9660 2333.
