World Maritime Day - Sept 27th

march led by Seafarers Memorial Jazz Band
to the Seafarers' Memorial Anchor
National Maritime Museum,
Darling Harbour

Seafarers Memorial Jazz Band will then entertain in the Terrace Room, Maritime Museum

World Maritime Day was established by the UN body the International Maritime Organisation to honour the world's merchant seafarers and world shipping

This year the International Transport Workers' Federation is calling on affiliates to also highlight the effect of globalisation on seafarers and the environment.

In Melbourne the union is holding a similar function at the Pollywoodside Maritime Museum with retired Captain Bill Bolitho former ANL chairman as guest of honour.
