Getcha Bronny on a Stick!!!!Date: 04 October 2001
MEDIA ALERT GETCHA BRONNY ON A STICK Aged care workers concerned about the axe falling on quality of care for residents, the continuing crisis of bed shortages and poor pay and conditions will attend the launch of the LHMU Aged Care Union's election policy at the newly opened Bronwyn Bishop Memorial Nursing Home. " Bronwyn Bishop - on a stick - will be everywhere on the day but, as usual, there will be only a couple of beds to go around for all the residents," Irene Monro, LHMU Aged Care Union Queensland Assistant Secretary said. " Talk about a bed shortage in Brisbane! " While the LHMU Aged Care Union's election launch will have a sense of humour about it the topic we are discussing is very serious," Irene Monro said. Speaking at the launch will be: · Grace Grace, QCU Secretary · Shirley Mellor, LHMU Aged Care Union State President · Chris Evans, Shadow Minister for Aged Care · Kathleen Brookes, Labor Candidate for the seat of Moreton After the launch there will be a morning tea at the Club for many local Older Australians. The LHMU proudly represents more than 150,000 hard working women and men throughout Australia For more info: Irene Monro, LHMU Aged Care Union 07 3831 3355 or 0419 767 786
