Nurses Release Campaign Song

Date: 20 June 2002

The Queensland Nurses Union (QNU) has this morning released the theme song - Worth Looking After - for its campaign to rebuild nursing as an attractive career.

Worth Looking After was written and sung by nurse and QNU information officer, Jude Mullane. It has been produced as both an audio CD and video clip.

The release of the theme song for the QNU's Nurses: Worth Looking After campaign comes as thousands of Queensland public sector nurses at more than 80 hospitals and health facilities across the State take strike action today for better wages and conditions.

It what will be the most extensive nurses strike in Queensland history, nurses at some of the State's biggest hospitals, including the Royal Brisbane, Princess Alexandra and Townsville, will strike for 24 hours.

Work bans are also continuing at more than 80 hospitals and health care facilities around the State.
