Reforms to NSW industrial relations laws announced last night by NSW Attorney General Jeff Shaw are a win for workers, particularly casuals and contractors NSW Labor Council secretary Michael Costa has welcomed the reforms and say they will lead to a civilizing of the workplace. "The Carr government has introduced a range of measures to give people in new forms of employment the same protection as employees`," Mr Costa said. "This will not only deliver justice to these workers, but take away some of the incentives that have led to the casualisation of the workplace." Ket changes include: Mr Costa will be available for comment in the Union Shop, 377 Sussex Street at 10am this morning. He will joined by some workers who will benefit from the reforms.
