Wollongong No War Rally Sat Feb 8Date: 06 February 2003
A broad coalition of opposition to war against Iraq has emerged on the South Coast with union, business, church, political and other community leaders joining forces to pledge resistance to any Australian involvement. The Wollongong March and Rally against the war will be held on Saturday February 8 assembling at 10.30am in Lowden Square (east side of Wollongong Rail. Arthur Rorris, South Coast Labour Council Secretary said, "There is a groundswell of public opposition to Australian military involvement that is unprecedented in recent times." "early indications are that this may well be the biggest rally Wollongong has seen in years" Speakers will include: John Maitland, National Secretary of the CFMEU, Most Rev.
