Fijian democracy protest in CanberraDate: 30 May 2000
The Movement for Democracy in Fiji has organised a Canberra demonstration demanding the restoration of the constitutional government of Mahendra Chaudry. Supporters of Fijian democracy will march at 11am tomorrow (Wednesday) from Old Parliament House to the Parliament building and meet with both Government and Opposition MPs. Unions are asked to give support to this march. If you are aware of Fijian-Australian members of unions who may want to take part in this demonstration could you please give them details. Sydney supporters are leaving in a convoy for the demonstration at 7.30am from the Fiji Market, Northumberland St, Liverpool.
