This Youth Week SMS The PM

Date: 08 April 2003

Young Australians are being urged to get on the phone to SMS the Prime Minister and tell him what they really think about the war on Iraq.

Ms Roxon, Labor shadow minister for you is distributing a mobile phone number which young Australians can use to send a message straight to the top.

"Now anyone with access to a mobile phone can send their message to the PM and register a complaint about this Government's haste to plunge Australia into a war without UN support."

All messages sent to the dedicated number - 0421 054 278 - will be passed on directly to John Howard's office.

Ms Roxon will be formally launching the SMS campaign at the Victoria University Labor Club.

Where: Victoria University Footscray Park Campus in the Bar Building M level O
When: Tuesday 8 April 2003 5pm

"Now there is something more you can do instead of signing petitions or attending rallies to get your point across - just type out a stern message into a phone and hit send."

"John Howard, its time that you got the message."

Media welcome.
