The United Firefighters Union of Australia (Victorian Branch) wishes to appoint a Health and Safety Representative Support Officer.

| Job Description: |
Liaising with and providing support, information and advice to Health and Safety Representatives Collating, filing and organising data and other information and resources Maintaining the OHS section of the UFU website and various databases Undertaking research into current and emerging health and safety issues in the firefighting industry Preparing written reports and assisting in producing publications As this position arises out of a grant for funding provided by Worksafe Victoria, ensuring the UFU maintains its reporting obligations under its Funding Agreement with Worksafe Other administrative duties as required.

| Experience & Qualifications |
| Essential: |
Knowledge of occupational health and safety, including knowledge and understanding of Victorian occupational health and safety legislation, Compliance Codes and Australian Standards Ability to provide information and advice to HSRs on the application of the OHS Act Ability to establish networks to assist HSRs to understand their role and rights under the OHS Act Ability to work with key stakeholders including HSRs, the UFU and Worksafe Inspectors Program management skills, including the development and implementation of agreed plans A current drivers licence.

Knowledge of the firefighting industry will be an advantage Some desktop publishing skills will be useful Relevant qualifications in OHS will be highly regarded.

Information: |
The position will be offered on a part-time (3 days per week) basis for a fixed term of 2 years.
The incumbent will report to the Branch Secretary and Office Manager throughout the course of their appointment.
