Overview:

Applications are sought for the position of Senior Information Systems and Technology Officer within the Unions head office in Sydney. The USU is the industry Union representing workers in local government, clerical, administrative, energy, airlines and utilities in NSW.

Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

Level 1, 2 and 3 desktop support

Backup management and monitoring

Network administration and systems support Capacity planning and project management As well as ad hoc duties such as audio and visual setup, training room technical facilities maintenance and advice on current and future technology.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

To be successful in this role you will have a customer focussed approach to manage service requests; technically proficiency to resolve system and hardware issues; perform routine operational system checks; and, be involved in ad-hoc projects. You must believe in continuous improvement and be able to work in partnership with (onsite and offsite) colleagues.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Excellent English language skills
A strong customer focus with real get up and go Excellent problem resolution skills A willingness to occasionally travel and do field work Current drivers license

As an EXPERIENCED all-rounder you will have previous experience working in an SOE with:
Windows 98, 2000, XP desktops; NT 4.0, 2000 and 2003 server and MS Office 2000 Exchange 5.5, 2003 SQL Applications Crystal Reports Arcserve V9 and V11 Active Directory VPN and ADSL TCP/IP Network peripherals Desktop and laptop builds Shiva LanRover Symantec Firewall VPN200, VPN100, Antivirus PABX HP / Compaq Servers.

Salary:

The salary range for the position commences at $1,311.00 pw to $1,487.00 pw.

information: Conditions of employment are based on a 35 hour week and 9 day fortnight with benchmark conditions including paid maternity leave and other attractive benefits.
