The Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU) is one of Australias largest and most innovative trade unions.
The CPSU is looking for creative, enthusiastic and self-motivated Organisers to be based in our Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra Offices.
Working as part of a vibrant team, you will have a key role in developing and implementing effective campaigns and strategies to build members collective power in the workplace. There will be a strong emphasis on recruiting members and developing member activists and workplace leaders.
Highly developed organising, campaigning and communication skills will be well regarded.

jobdescription: The primary function of this role is to develop and implement effective campaigns and strategies to build members collective power in the workplace. The position will report to the team Official and Lead Organiser and will be focused on meeting the four key union objectives of:
Delivering the unions core claim in bargaining Delivering the unions growth target Building member participation in the collective activity Increasing the number, skill and engagement of activists and workplace leaders in CPSU activity

| Essential: |
Demonstrated commitment to trade unionism and social justice Excellent listening, verbal communication and interpersonal skills ability to establish rapport, explore issues, encourage critical analysis and gain commitment to action Ability to lead, motivate, develop and mobilize union members, workplace activists, and volunteers Ability to analyse issues/problems and develop strategies to deal with them Ability to deal professionally with diverse groups of people, including members, delegates and union officials Enthusiasm, energy and creativity to do a challenging job in a difficult environment

Good written communication skills ability to write leaflets, letters or reports and analyse written documents Current drivers license.

$51,856 - $65,629 (+ 13% Superannuation)

What you will do:
Work with members to solve local solutions for local issues Recruit new workers to the CPSU Identify and develop activists, and increase activity in the workplace Implement national campaigns at the local level Refer all individual grievances/issues to our Organisers in the Membership Services Centre Implement other strategies and campaigns as developed by the Executive Committee of the CPSU.
