| Overview: |
The Victorian Trades Hall Council in early 2007 secured funding from the Victorian WorkCover Authority to establish a specialist Return to Work Unit to work on the very difficult issue of the return to work of workers who sustain work related injury.

| Job Description: |
Consult unions, delegates and workers as well as field officer within the RTW Unit in regards to RTW education and training needs, Develop annual training calendar, In conjunction with unions and the field officers organise training as part of existing union delegate training, Work with unions to provide professional development for union staff on RTW, Deliver 1 hour, 2 hour, 4 hour and 1 day education and training programs on relevant RTW issues, processes and the law, Regularly evaluate and amend the education and training processes, Organise 4 RTW forums per year, including some in rural towns, Prepare reports for VTHC and unions on activities, Intrastate travel will be required.

| Experience & Qualifications |
| Essential: |
The applicant must demonstrate the following skills and experience:
A well developed and demonstrated commitment to unionism and ability to work co-operatively with the broad range of affiliates of Victorian Trades Hall Council.
A strong and demonstrated commitment to the rights of workers to occupational health and safety, and adequate compensation and rehabilitation for work related injury or illness.
Demonstrated experience in the delivery of accredited training, including undertaking assessment. A Certificate IV is desirable.
Awareness and knowledge of the major OHS hazards and emerging OHS/workers compensation issues in Australian workplaces.
Understanding and knowledge of contemporary industrial relations issues, OHS and workers compensation laws and regulations impacting on workplaces.
Understanding of how gender and ethnicity may impact on RTW in the workplace.
Demonstrated ability to organise busy work flow and conflicting priorities and meet strict deadlines.
Ability to work on own initiative with limited direction, as well as part of a team.
A current Victorian Drivers License.
Computer literacy.

| Salary: |
Senior VTHC Non Elected Officer Grade 3 (pro-rata) includes generous Superannuation benefits after 6 months employment.
Salary & Conditions in accordance with the Trades Hall Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.

Additional Information: |
Successful applicants will be required to complete a VWA approved RTW Co-ordinator Training (2day).
