Australian Workers Union

The AWU national office is looking for a dynamic young filmmaker/videographer to work as part of a communications project informing members and the broader community about our campaigns and key workplace issues.

The AWU is Australia's oldest union and our largest blue-collar union with members working in some of the most dynamic industries driving our economy.

We are looking for someone who is prepared to come up with bold new ideas to make our communication work using videos more effective - especially on the web, but also in other places where young workers access videos.

This person will be able to show they can integrate their video work with our magazine, and other written literature - as well as help us in our plans to improve our use of video on the website.

The successful candidate will have a good eye for design, and the skills to create templates for the range of print material the national office and state branches may require from time to time.

Applicants should be proficient in the use of:

• Premiere Pro

• Soundbooth

• Illustrator

• Photoshop

• InDesign

• Microsoft Word 2007

Overseeing the entire production of short videos, from planning to shooting to final rendering/authoring.

Designs for internal and external distribution e.g. templates, flyers, folders etc. Possible set design and other general design for National Conference.

Writing skills for The Worker magazine.

Other adhoc duties associated with the web, magazine , union conferences, IT, Office administration.
