NTEU Victorian Division

The National Tertiary Education Union (Victorian Division) covers nearly 10,000 members employed in universities, associated companies, Research Institutes, TAFE, student unions and adult and community education. The NTEU maintains a Branch Office at most Victorian universities. The Unions membership includes Academic, General staff, Research and Professional staff.

The NTEU is a vibrant and active union that engages in membership organisation and representation, enterprise bargaining, and institutional, sectoral and public campaigning.

This is an on-going full-time position based initially at the University of Melbourne: The University of Melbourne Branch is the largest Branch in the union with nearly 2000 members and an active delegates group.

The successful applicant will be responsible, with other staff and delegates, for the organisation and completion of organising, campaign, representation, industrial and administrative tasks and projects in a university workplace. The position will work directly with the elected branch officers and committee, the Victorian Division and National Office staff and officers. The position will report to the Branch Executive and the Victorian Division Secretary.

Remunerated within the following range: (depending on skills and experience) NTEU level 5/6 ($56,061 - $60 611 / $63,291 - $69,385) + 17% employer superannuation contributions. Terms and conditions for this position is covered by a national collective agreement which has terms comparable with NTEU members in the industry.
