The NSW Branch currently has a vacancy for an organiser to work in the Border Region of NSW/Victoria. The position is based in our Albury-Wodonga Regional Office.

Applicants should have a passionate commitment to building the Unions capacity to campaign for fair wages and conditions for all manufacturing workers through:

The AMWU represents and organises workers across all sections of the manufacturing industry: metal and engineering, technical, food, printing and vehicle industries Applicant must be able to demonstrate strong communication & negotiation skills, an ability to work across all divisions and an understanding of the industrial and political issues facing the wide spectrum of manufacturing workers.

While expected to work independently, they will also receive training and be supervised by an experienced official.

Organising in union and non-union workplaces

Direct, systematic worker contact

Building the unions workplace organisation

Facilitate activist and delegate networks.

The successful applicant will work across divisions and report to both the NSW and Victorian State Secretaries on membership growth and development of industrial and occupational health and safety delegates.
