The NSW Fire Brigade Employees Union (FBEU), which covers professional firefighters across NSW is looking to appoint an organiser to service the northern half of the state.
|
|
| Job Description: |
This newly created organiser position will be responsible for representing the Union at workplaces in Northern and Western NSW. Their role will include encouraging union membership and participation, providing advice and representing the interests of members in negotiations with the NSWFB, facilitating and running union meetings and campaigns and other organising duties as required. There will be a requirement to travel across the northern half of the State and to Sydney on a regular basis. The successful applicant will be based in an office in a regional centre in the north or west of the State. The location will be determined in consultation with the successful applicant.

| Experience & Qualifications |
| Essential: |
It is essential that the successful applicant has a commitment to the principles of the trade union movement, excellent verbal communication skills and an ability to effectively use a computer. In addition, the applicant should have an understanding of how to apply industrial awards and agreements and experience in effective negotiations with an operations focussed public sector organisation.

| Desired: |
Applicants with Certificate IV (or higher) qualifications in workplace training are particularly encouraged to apply.

| Salary: |
A package commensurate with experience and qualifications will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
