Position: Industrial Relations Full Time Helpdesk Operator

Overview:

The full time position involves providing external advice to the most important people within the Union, our members. This advice is primarily to be given over the telephone or email systems in relation to members industrial entitlements.

Job Description:

You will be required to:

Provide timely, accurate responses to a member or delegates industrial inquiry.

Utilise industrial information on awards, agreements, union policy and publications.

Manoeuvre around Industrial Databases and Intranet Information portals.

The position works closely with National & State Officials of the AMWU, & requires well developed oral & written communication skills.

In addition to this function, there will be an outbound call component to the job where you may be required to call our delegates / members, to advise them of meetings, conduct surveys etc.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

We require a person with the following skills:

High level customer service
High level of telephone communication skills Team based skills Strong analytical Skills Positive attitude under pressure Quick, accurate Keyboard skills High level & Use of Microsoft Word, Excel & Internet Explorer Strong interest in Industrial Relations.

Desired:

A tertiary background in Industrial Relations, Social Sciences or Economics and / or equivalent experience is desirable.

A commitment to the principles of trade unionism would be an advantage.

Information:

You will be required to work between the hours of 8am 6pm at the AMWU Helpdesk located in the Granville Office.

The position is a fixed term contract of 12 months.
