The NTEU (NSW) is seeking to employ an Organiser for the Branch of the NTEU situated at Macquarie University.
The NTEU is a federally registered union with coverage of academic and general staff in higher education. The NTEU (NSW) is responsible for workers in all NSW universities and their associated student organisations, research institutes and companies.

| Job Description: |
General administrative support for the Branch and its Committees, Branch organising, recruitment and campaign activities, maintenance and servicing of Branch delegates and other activists networks, promoting the professional interests of, and communication with, members and providing advice and assistance to members commensurate with the position level appointed.

| Experience & Qualifications |
| Essential: |
Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent; experience in the trade union movement and a commitment to union principles; evidence of organising, recruitment and campaigning skills as well as negotiating and advocacy experience; word processing and database management skills; and, for the BIO role, experience in collective bargaining.

| Desired: |
DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES:
Knowledge of the higher education industry; electronic communication skills; experience in production of print media; and a drivers licence.
|

| Salary: |
$56,061 pa - $63,291 pa, plus superannuation (Level 5 - 6 NTEU National Staff Agreement). NB a 3.5% salary increase is due 31/08/08.
