Overview:

The Queensland Council of Unions is seeking applications for the position of OHS Project Officer. The Queensland Council of Unions is the peak council for the trade union movement in Queensland. Its affiliates have a combined membership of in excess of 350 000. The QCU operates in a climate of large scale and rapid change in the industrial relations arena and over time the organisation has adapted itself to promote membership growth and industrial justice in difficult circumstances.

Job Description:

The OHS Project Officer will join a team of experienced officials dedicated to advancing the OHS goals of the QCU.

We currently require a dynamic person to assist with the project coordination of the QCUs Occupational Health and Safety, Industry Consultation program.

The Officer will work closely with QCU and Safe Work College staff to provide coordination of union activities associated with WHSQ Industry Sector Standing Committees (ISCCs).

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

Applicants should have experience in liaising with government and unions and a sound knowledge of OHS. Experience producing newsletters and web information would be an advantage.

Information:

Appointment to the position will initially be on a temporary basis for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of further extension.
