Overview:

The Textile Clothing and Footwear Union of Australia, Victorian Branch is seeking an experienced committed organiser to join our high energy, passionate, progressive organising team.

---
Job Description:

Focus on growth and strength - both building membership numbers and activists

Develop, educate and support workplace delegates and activists

Recruit new members

Assist members and delegates in the handling of workplace issues

Assist members and delegates in the development and negotiation of enterprise agreements

Represent members in negotiations with management over workplace issues

Visit workplaces to check on pay and working conditions and OHS and to identify other industrial relations issues

Develop and implement worker campaigns at a workplace, sector and industry level

Audit company supply chains

Prepare correspondence, reports, campaign and IR case material.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

Experience as Union organiser Passion for the union movement Ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds Experience with organising and recruiting workers from non-English speaking background Drivers Licence Experience in activists campaigns Ability to both work independently and as part of a team The job demands irregular working hours and flexible approach Community languages a plus
