This position is situated in the National Research Office in Sydney. The position is for a 12 month fixed engagement.

The position incorporates the duties below and will largely be structured toward progressing the Union's Award Modernisation programme.

* provididng industrial advice to officials, officers, delegates and members;

* monitoring and reporting on industrial law developments;

* researching and reporting on issues affecting workers covered by the union;

* preparing cases for courts and tribunals;

* preparing submissions for inquiries;

* conducting corporate and industry research

* completion or near completion of a degree in a relevant discipline such as law or behavioral sciences;
* commitment to trade union principles and equity issues.

* work experience in a union or community enterprise:

Level 1 $42,304.60 to Level 4 $61, 162.40 depending on experience and qualifications
