Overview:

The Textile Clothing and Footwear Union of Australia, Victorian Branch is seeking a new organiser to join our high energy, passionate, progressive organising team.

---
Job Description:

1. Organise new members into the union 2. Develop, educate and support workplace delegates and activists 3. Assist members and delegates in the handling of workplace issues 4. Assist members and delegates in the development and negotiation of enterprise agreements 5. Represent members in negotiations with management over workplace issues 6. Visit workplaces to check on pay and working conditions and OHS and to identify other industrial relations issues 7. Develop and implement worker campaigns at a workplace, sector and industry level 8. Audit company supply chains 9. Prepare correspondence, reports, campaign and IR case material.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

1. Experience as organiser in a union or community context 2. Passion for the union movement 3. Ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds 4. Experience working with migrant and non-English speaking background communities 5. Drivers Licence 6. Experience in activists campaigns 7. Ability to both work independently and as part of a team 8. Capacity to work irregular working hours 9. Community language a plus.
