Unions are embarking on an exciting new phase of representing the rights of working Australians and we need a talented and energetic Campaigns Officer to join our successful campaigning team.

In this role you will use your demonstrated union or community campaigning experience to take a major role in activating union members and the wider community.

Job Description:

Primary Objectives of Position

1.Support the ACTU Campaigns Director in developing and delivering the campaign objectives of the ACTU.

2.Provide day to day support to the ACTU, Trades and Labor Councils (TLCs) and unions for campaign information, materials and activities.

3.Assist in building the capacity of the ACTU, TLCs and unions to develop effective campaigns within workplaces and the wider community.

Duties

1.Assist in planning, developing and implementing on the ground campaigns related to the ACTUs work.

2.Develop materials and tools for ACTU campaigns.

3.Work with the ACTU, Trades and Labor Councils (TLCs) and union campaign, training, communications and industrial staff in the development and rollout of campaign strategies and activities.

4.Support the TLCs and unions with continuing the involvement of the Your Rights at Work community groups and building relationships with other community groups.

5.Assist the ACTU Campaign Director with building relationships with community groups at the national level.

6.Assist other ACTU teams with their work as required.

Internal Communication

Reports to the ACTU Campaigns Director

Liaises with ACTU Organising Centre, industrial staff and communications.

External Liaison

ACTU affiliates, TLCs, and union campaigning, industrial and communications staff.

Members of the community, including advocacy groups and other community campaign staff.

Experience & Qualifications
