The Australian Services Union is one of the largest Unions in Australia, comprised of white-collar workers across a diverse range of industries, both public and private sector. We are a progressive union with a focus on campaigning and empowering our membership.

Job Description:

The ASU is looking for a person who is a talented writer and creative thinker with experience in using desktop technology to produce high quality union publications, and with the capacity to undertake media liaison. The successful applicant will be an integral part of our campaigning team.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

Your application should address the following selection criteria.

* Demonstrated capacity to think creatively and write with purpose.
* Demonstrated capacity to produce publications (including research and write articles) using demonstrated skills in desktop publishing layout (using InDesign or PageMaker, Illustrator and PhotoShop) including overseeing of production and printing, and distribution processes.
* Capacity to develop and implement communications strategies with our members, employers and community stakeholders.
* Capacity to contribute to the development of strategies for union campaigning/organising and be actively involved in their implementation.
* Assisting in the organisation of events such as Conferences, rallies and Labour Day.
* Demonstrated commitment to Unionism.
* Capacity to update and maintain the ASU website.
* Ability to plan and meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a fast paced environment.

Desired:

Journalism or marketing qualifications will be well regarded, as will practical experience in the field.
