| Job Description: |
The key role of a Lead Organiser is to develop, implement and analyse organising plans and drive campaigns to build the union; and to lead & develop a team of organisers, workplace leaders or activists. Further information about the role is outlined in the selection criteria.

XDemonstrated commitment to trade unionism and social justice XGood knowledge of the federal industrial relations system, collective bargaining and union strategy for the bargaining environment XComprehensive understanding of organising theory, strategy and practice and application of the principles and techniques of organising XAbility to develop, implement and analyse organising plans and to manage and prioritise work programs XExcellent listening, verbal communication and interpersonal skills V demonstrated ability to apply organising communication frameworks XAbility to lead, motivate and develop a team of organisers, workplace leaders or activists XAbility to conduct successful organising campaigns that build growth and sustainable union structures XAbility to analyze complex issues/problems and develop strategies to deal with them XAbility to deal professionally with diverse groups of people, including members, delegates, union officials and employers XEnthusiasm, energy and creativity to do a challenging job in a difficult environment
Requirements of this position:
"Willingness to work"
a)to a set organising plan (individual or team) and be accountable for delivering set objectives and targets b)as directed by a team leader or union official c)long and sometimes changing hours, including some nights or weekends and possibly travel to regional centres or interstate.

XExperience in campaigning and organising techniques such as blitzes, alternative systematic contact methods, comprehensive campaigning XExperience in negotiating and bargaining collective agreements XSignificant experience as a union organiser XGood written communication skills V ability to write leaflets, letters or reports and analyse written documents XPublic speaking skills XComputer skills in areas such as word processing, e-mail, internet, databases XCurrent drivers license.

$71,654 V $80,348 plus 13.25% super
