CPSU is a federal union with representation in every state and territory and has around 60,000 members. The CPSU predominantly covers Commonwealth government departments, statutory authorities, business enterprises and the ACT and NT governments.
2009 is CPSU Year of the Delegate and we are committed to giving our workplace delegates the best training and support. We will be delivering a comprehensive delegate support program which will include campaign training, a structured training program, an affirmative action program and a member organiser program. The delegate support program is designed to provide delegates and activists with the skills, training and confidence to lead and build CPSU in their workplaces.

| Job Description: |
As a CPSU educator you will be at the forefront, across all our industries, in assisting delegates to build their union. Your job will be to support teams in developing delegates, workplace activists and strong union structures. You will be responsible for delivering the 2009 scheduled delegates training program as well as assisting teams in planning and developing workplace campaign training, as well as play a role in driving national campaigns and projects.

| Experience & Qualifications |
| Essential: |
1.Ability to motivate and develop workplace delegates, leaders and activists.
2.Ability to deal professionally with diverse groups of people, including members, potential members, delegates, employers, section and governing councillors, union staff and union officials
3.Ability to develop women activists/leaders and create appropriate diversity balance amongst activists
4.Comprehensive understanding and application of the principles and techniques of organising.
5.Excellent listening, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
6.Ability to present information and facilitate group learning in an interactive manner using adult learning techniques.
7.Ability to analyse complex problems and develop strategies to deal with them.
8.Enthusiasm, energy and creativity to do a challenging job.

| Desired: |
1.Good knowledge of the federal industrial relations system.
2.Training qualifications (eg. Train the Trainer/Organiser as Educator/Certificate IV in Training and Assessment).
3.Ability to work changing hours, including weekends and travelling to regional centres and interstate.

$60,022V $68,746 plus 13.25% super
