Overview:

Are you an experienced Organiser or Lead Organiser looking to take on an exciting new challenge?

The Finance Sector Union is establishing an Outbound Organising Centre (OCC) in its National Office in Sydney to improve the union's recruitment and retention results as well as support its field organising and campaign plans. The union is seeking to employ a Lead Organiser to co-ordinate a team of casual Outbound Calling Operators and the day to day operation of the Call Centre. The OCC will operate Monday - Wednesday from 5pm to 9pm. The Lead Organiser position is full time, with hours of work that will include these times, however exact start finish times may be negotiated.

Job Description:

The Lead Organiser will be responsible for:

• Co-ordination of Outbound calling Operators, including rostering and other staffing matters;

• Coaching and mentoring of Operators to maximise effectiveness of calls, including

• Briefing and de-briefing on calling projects;

• Assisting with the development of calling campaigns and scripts;

• Making calls as part of calling projects;

• Liaison with other parts of the union in relation to calling projects;

• Management of call centre related technology, databases and work flow tools;

• Ensuring matters requiring follow-up are actioned;

• Reporting on the results of calling projects.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

The successful applicants will have:

• Commitment to the principles of trade unionism;
• People leadership and coaching skills;
• Experience and high achievement as a union organiser or Lead Organiser;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to handle objections and project a positive, friendly and professional impression of the union;
• High level analytical skills;
• Ability to absorb and process new information quickly;
• Ability to perform under pressure both independently and as a part of a team;
• Ability to perform work within specified timelines and plan work systematically and effectively;
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to different situations and needs;
• Highly competent computer skills and ability to work with new systems with minimal training.

Salary:

The position will be graded in accordance with the Union's three tier grading structure for Lead Organisers which has a full-time salary range of $67,629 - $78,043 per annum. The FSU also offers other excellent working conditions.
