Overview:

The Queensland Council of Unions is seeking applications for the position of Campaign Organiser.

The Queensland Council of Unions is the peak council for the trade union movement in Queensland. Its 34 affiliates have a combined membership in excess of 350000. The QCU has developed a capacity t lead cross-union and industry campaigns as well as community and political campaigns and seeks to expand this capacity.

Job Description:

1. Develop and co-ordinate state-wide campaigns on behalf of the QCU and its affiliates, including Queensland implementation of national ACTU campaigns.

2. Ensure the campaign team works in accordance with the QCU's strategic objectives as determined by Executive.

3. Provide high-level advice and reportage to the QCU Executive and ACTU forums.

4. Co-ordinate multi-union campaigns in key workplaces and industries.

5. Provide strategic planning advice for unions in the development of campaigns.

6. Develop and maintain relationships with community, political and other oganisations critical to achievement of campaign goals.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

1. Demonstrated skills in the development and implementation of major campaigns.
2. Demonstrated strategic planning experience.
3. Demonstrated capacity to translate overall campaign themes into a variety of settings and for different audiences.
4. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with affiliates, community organisations and other key stakeholders.
5. The capacity to work in a high pressure environment and successfully balance competing work demands.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Salary:

$70,000 plus entitlements
