Overview:

The Asbestos Information Support Service Inc (AISS) is a not for profit charitable organisation that has provided support to Victorian asbestos disease sufferers and their families for more than 12 years. Formerly the Victorian Asbestos Diseases Society, the AISS also provides education to the general community about the dangers of asbestos. The ultimate goal of the AISS is to eradicate asbestos from our environment.

Job Description:

The AISS currently has an excellent opportunity for the right individual to assist in the achievement of these goals as Executive Officer. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the AISS, the position has a consultation, support and public relations focus, tailored towards promotion of the AISS and the services it provides.

Reporting to the President of the AISS, this is a part-time position (flexibility around part time hours) with key responsibilities including:

Marketing, public relations and media liaison Generation and maintenance of publications Management of support services Telephone advice and referral for clients and their families Management of significant events, such as Asbestos Awareness Week General administration of the AISS and AISS Committee.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

This position requires the ability to form effective relationships through the application of outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. The successful applicant will be able to work autonomously, with a large degree of self-motivation. High level organisational skills are also required along with the ability to multi-task and juggle competing demands.
