Overview:

Part time 24 to 32 hours a week Maternity leave relief for up to 10 months with the possibility of ongoing part time work The Australian Salaried Medical Officers Federation, ASMOF (NSW) is a registered trade union established to promote and service the needs of salaried senior medical practitioners in New South Wales. ASMOF has a vacancy for a legal practitioner or an industrial/senior industrial advisor.

Job Description:

The legal practitioner /industrial/senior industrial advisor will be required to contribute in the following areas:

Industrial services to ASMOF members, including advice in relation to awards and agreements, representation in meetings with employers, advocacy in industrial tribunals and general employment advice; Information services to ASMOF members, including State and Federal newsletters and the ASMOF website; and Participation in membership recruitment and retention activities.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or significant relevant experience in industrial relations, familiarity with the NSW / Federal industrial systems demonstrated high level interpersonal, diligence and an ability to work to strict timelines, communication and negotiation skills, and computer literacy.

Desired:

Legal qualifications, experience in resolving disputes and appearing in Industrial tribunals, commitment to the principles of the trade union movement and experience in the health industry.

Salary:

An attractive package of up to approx. $100k plus super, pro rata (depending on skills and experience) and flexible salary packaging and working hours arrangements will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
