Overview:

The ASU covers a wide range of industries by virtue of our occupational grouping, in both the private and community sectors. The successful applicant may expect to gain a wide grounding across industries and be given the opportunity to grow and develop within a progressive organization.

Applications are invited from experienced practitioners interested in working with a dynamic and enthusiastic team of professionals dedicated to the improvement of working conditions and pay in the clerical and administrative industry.

Job Description:

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate experience in providing industrial advice to union staff and members, as well as experience in appearing before various industrial tribunals. The ability to be creative and supportive of union organising campaigns is essential.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

Possession of tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline

Ability to use word, excel, power point and other relevant programs

Sound understanding of industrial and political environment in Victoria or the ability to acquire such an understanding in a short period of time

Sound understanding of industries in which the ASU operates or the ability to acquire such an understanding in a short period of time

Working knowledge of;
Workplace Relations Act 1996
Ability to become familiar quickly with the provisions of the Fair Work Bill Victorian LSL Act 1992 Accident Compensation Act 1985 Occupational Health & Safety Act 2004.
