The United Services Union is seeking a talented and passionate individual to take on the vital role of Director of Women Child Care Youth and Aged Care.

---
Job Description:

Providing advice & guidance to the Executive Management Team on complex or politically sensitive womens, childcare, youth and aged care issues Implementing Executive policy decisions & initiatives Analysing & resolving industrial conflict Advocacy before Commissions & Tribunals Chairing State Committees Lobbying A commitment to the principles of trade unionism.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

Extensive experience in an Industrial Relations position OR Experience in a managerial role within an industrial relations discipline; Excellent communication, interpersonal and persuasive skills to adapt to a variety of forums;Extensive knowledge of awards and industrial relations legislation impacting on members; Demonstrated commitment to the principles of trade unionism;Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve industrial conflict;Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to negotiate industrial workplace agreements;Computer literate with intermediate skills in word, excel, and electronic mail systems;RTA class C drivers licence;Well developed research skills and administration experience;Demonstrated ability in preparation of correspondence and reports;Experienced in advocacy before Commissions and Tribunals;Capacity to lobby;Ability to build and develop networks.

A strong personality tempered by compassion & diplomacy Alertness to changing priorities and strategy responsiveness Ability to build networks Completed tertiary studies in, management, advocacy, industrial relations or other associated courses; Possess well-developed managerial skills and an appreciation of the political and social context in which the Union operates.
Workplace Assessors Certificate Knowledge and experience in successfully developing workplace initiatives to progress the representation of women in senior positions of employment; Experience within the child care industry would be beneficial.

Salary:

The salary for the role is between $1,353 to $1,535 plus super.
