Overview:

The Australian Federation of Air Pilots is a trade union and professional association representing almost 3000 Australian pilots from all sectors of the Australian aviation industry, including Virgin Blue, Jetstar, Tiger Airways, Qantaslink, National Jet Systems, Alliance and the broad range of commercial operations, including RFDS, Bristow Helicopters, CHC Helicopters to name but a few.

Due to expanding membership, and to meet the challenges of the Australian aviation industry, an opportunity exists with the Federation for the position of SENIOR INDUSTRIAL OFFICER

Job Description:

As an experienced self starter, you will be primarily responsible for empowering, supporting and representing Australian pilots, as well as leading negotiations and campaigns at the enterprise and industry levels.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

The position requires a person with broad experience in industrial relations. In addition to having well developed analytical, communication, advocacy and negotiation skills, you will possess a working knowledge of contemporary industrial and other employment legislation.

Desired:

Candidates with legal qualifications, particularly in industrial/employment law are encouraged to apply.

Salary:

A Remuneration package of around $100,000 (including superannuation) is on offer, negotiable on the basis of qualifications and experience. Additionally, a fully maintained motor vehicle is available.

Information:

The position will involve regular travel throughout Australia.
