The Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers, Australia (APESMA)

The Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers, Australia is a trade union and professional association representing 25,000 professionals in diverse industries across Australia. Working in critical areas of the economy our members are highly skilled and work in demanding roles.

The Association is going through a change process to engage members in the work of the Association and better represent the values of our members. In order to facilitate this, we are establishing a new service for members, a Member Service Centre.

As the initial point of contact for the Association, you will be providing industrial advice, working with members and others to progress the Associations agenda, and providing follow up support to members on all matters relating to their employment, including the application of Awards, Workplace Agreements and relevant legislation. You will also have the opportunity to deal with a wide range of queries, and perform an important role resolving issues, and working to recruit and retain Association members.

A commitment to trade union values is essential. This position would be ideal for an industrial practitioner with one-two years experience. Graduates with a keen interest in industrial relations should also consider applying.
Applicants will have access to a training and support program.

Good written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills

A salary in the range $40 - 50,000 plus superannuation is available, dependent on skills and experience. Generous conditions are included.

The position is based in Melbourne, and applicants will need to be available for some rostered out of hours work.
