Overview:

The ACTU Organising, Education and Campaign Centre provides education and campaigning support to Australian unions affiliated to the ACTU. The education provision of the Centre is aimed at developing the skills and knowledge of organisers, union leaders, delegates, educators and activists. The Centre also works with Unions to build comprehensive internal programs in order to strengthen capacity and grow. This work includes the development and implementation of campaigns, systems development and consultancy.

Job Description:

The ACTU Organising Centre now has a vacancy for a Project Officer based in Melbourne. This role will be offered as a short-term contract until 31st January 2010. (Please note that the availability of this position is dependent on the success of a recent grant submission). The key focus of the position will be to develop, implement and manage the administrative and financial systems to support a new Grant Scheme. The successful applicant will create and administer systems to manage the internal and external components of the scheme, maintain appropriate financial management systems, undertake reporting, and ensure compliance with the terms of the Funding Agreement.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:

The ACTU Organising Centre is seeking applicants with extensive experience in Project Management and/or Administrative Management, with a strong background in financial management. The successful applicant will have high-level communication skills, and the ability to manage relationships with external grant applicants, government bodies, and ACTU management.

Salary:

$68,226 - $72,030 pro rata
